Have you ever wondered why we become content to continue time and time again doing the same thing in life? Going the same places, eating the same food, driving the same route to work. Basically we have confined ourselves to a life itinerary that produces the same thing day after day, week after week. We then wonder why we get the same results. Not that consistency or familiarity is bad, in some cases it is a stable foundation. But ultimately it becomes mundane if there is not, how shall I say it, “the more”. It is easier to lie within the soft confines of contentment, than to continually strive for the heights of enlightenment. It is easier to follow than to lead. It is easier to be an imitator than to be an initiator. It is easier to be go along than be alone. It is easier to be the victim than the victor. And as “followers of Christ”, it is easier to hear the Word as oppose to studying the Word. But the time has come for us to become that He says we are. It is time for us to have a mind that is “Renewed, Transformed and Empowered producing an abundant Life”.
The intent of this “project” is to examine the Word and then imitate, emulate and initiate the Word in our lives. John 8:32 says something very interesting. It says (KJV) “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”. Notice “make” you free NOT set you free. Sidebar – You can be SET free illegally (jail break) or legally (bonded out) but still not be free in mind, in the hope of the future regarding your situation. Yes I was set free illegally but will I be caught? I was set free legally but will my bond be revoked? Do you understand? Verse 36 of John 8 says, “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed”. Wait… I thought the “truth” makes you free, why four verses later does it say the “Son”? John 14:6 reveals a revelation. “Jesus saith unto him (Thomas), I am the way, the truth, and the life…” The disciple John declares “In the beginning was the Word…. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His Glory, the Glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and TRUTH.” The seventeenth verse says “For the law was given by Moses, but grace and TRUTH came by Jesus Christ” The original in Greek says it likes this. “Because the law through Moses was given, the favor and the truth through Jesus Christ became.” In other words, Jesus IS Grace, He IS truth. “And ye shall know the truth… but it is ONLY the truth you KNOW that will make you free”. So I hope this “blog project” will allow the Word to “Renew, Transform and Empower” us to producing an abundant Life in HIM…TRUTH! Are you ready? Cool!!!
